After one year as a first grade teacher's aide at St. Martin of Tours School in Kankakee, I returned to college to get my degree in elementary education. I received an Associate in Arts degree from Kankakee Community College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Governors State University. Following a year of substitute teaching in Kankakee county, I came to St. Rose as a fifth and sixth grade teacher in 1992. I have spent my entire tenure at St. Rose in this position until this school year when I moved to the first and second grades. Besides teaching, I coach fifth through eighth grade students for the IESA Speech Contest in the fall. During the second semester, I sponsor Drama Club for these same grades. When I am not busy with school, I enjoy reading, gardening, emailing my friends and family, and watching the Chicago Cubs.
